Note Slims guitar - Epiphone (Emperor, I think) - with a DeArmond
fitted, the earliest Ive ever seen (if the date of the film is correct).

Reckon Little Richard was a Slim Gaillard fan?

And an instrumental from the same session (by the look of it):

I was about to open with, About ten years ago, ... but it was 1989 when
Slim was the subject of a four-parter on BBC TV called The World Of Slim
Gaillard.
Absolute magic, delightfully relaxed - included revisits to old haunts, and
conversations with guys, such as Dizzie Gillespie, who he had worked with.
Cant find much about the series but this interview has something of the
feel:

Pete - I remember that beautiful series very well.

And what a sobering thought - NINETEEN years ago! I knew that it was
broadcast in 1989 because I remember discussing it each week with a
colleague I only worked with from very late 1988 to very early 1990).

Doesnt time fly as we get older? :-(
