Hi all,

To my shame, Ive just heard Eric Roche play for the first time.
Having just discovered him on Youtube, Im more than a little
disappointed to find out that hes a bit on the dead side, as he was
obviously a heck of a player. I was getting into full-on Why do I
only find out about these people once theyve died? mode, when I got
to thinking that I *might* have seen him after all.

Many moons ago - probably about 8 years - I attended the Music Live
guitar show at the NEC, and there was a player on one of the stands
playing very much in his style, doing all the crazy percussive stuff.
I remember that he did Smells Like Teen Spirit (which Roche also did)
and Im wondering if it might have been him.

Can anyone confirm this? If it helps anyone remember... the
Hellecasters were on in the live music hall, Mark King and Martin
Taylor were endorsing instruments and Hank Marvin was doing autographs
and photos.

TIA
Tarby

I went to music live a few years ago and it was definitely him. He
played teen spirit and a fewof his own tunes. Great player. Sadly
missed.

He was at the NEC show 2/11/01. I saw him do a small live performance
and had a good old chit-chat with him on the Lowden stand.
