Id go with the AC/DC and/or Quo for now unless they happen to know the same
songs from the other mentions that you do. If you can sing and you know a
reasonably staright forward 12 bar, they will likely be able to follow you.
Otherwise blues in A:-

A7\|A7\|A7\|A7\|D7\|D7\|A7\|A7\|E7\|D7\|A7\|A7\| and
repeat

more often:-
|A7\|D7\|A7\|A7\|D7\|D7\|A7\|A7\|E7\|D7\|A7\|A7\|
and repeat

and quite often
|A7\|D9\|A7\|A7\|D9\|D9\|A7\|A7\|E9\|D9\|A7\|A7\|
and repeat

Sometimes with the 9ths and additional 7th chords theres slurs up from the
same chord type a halftone below (or halftone above) the target chord, and
or a D# between the D and E. Best not to play a 9th chord if others are
playing a straight 7th and vice versa. I did and have it on tape somewhere.
It just sounds odd.
