Hi,

Just FYI really, in case you experience similar issues:

I had a problem with the USB connection on my X3, every time I disconnected
it from the PC i.e. turned it off or pulled out the USB cable my PC
rebooted. And I mean a cold reboot, power off and back on. Not much fun when
I was trying to do a firmware upgrade on the X3.

Turns out the cause was my webcam drivers (Logitech). I uninstalled them,
tried the X3 again and it works just fine. I then installed the latest
drivers for the webcam and it was still ok.

Cheers,
Kari

Ooh, I dunno.

Ive had all sorts of strange conflicts like that.

The one under discussion seems more sensible than most - at least the
conflict concerned some aspect of audio-visual stuff.

I have a hitec one. I bought an intellipanel which switches off everything
attached when the PC is switched off, but I sometimes use ADSL modem with
another PC so I put the modem as the main unit. For some reason I wanted
to switch off the modem but forgot where it was powered and did so while the
first PC was into its powering down proceedure. This immediately cut the
power to the PC which then wouldnt boot into safe mode. I had to do a
rewrite of the 5 magic files to get at the restore points before it was
back to normal.

According to a colleague of mine (who works on webcams, video conferencing
etc.), the Logitech drivers are a bit unstable and cause problems every now
and then.
