Defretted by me, so I guess that counts as professionally :)

Strung with Thomastik Jazz flatwounds, sounds remarkably good for such a
bargain price.

Due in great part to the Thomastiks no doubt. Great strings, Ive got
them on my Rickenbacker.
When you de-fret do you leave gaps in the fretboard or fill them
with anything?
Just curious..

I fill them with pieces of maple veneer, which fills the gaps and leaves
a handy line for reference.

Viola, yes - an interesting project that one. I do like that sort of
challenge and the owner was very pleased with the result.

As a previous customer of Mr Creedy, I can confirm that the fret slots are
filled with a light coloured wood, and that its a very neat job. Makes
things easy for a hopeless fretless player like me :-)

I didnt get on with flatwounds. They sort of rolled around under my
fingers. Stuck a set of roundwounds on and like them a lot more, but bear
in mind that defretted fingerboards are softer than real fretless ones so
expect some wear. For me, its an acceptable tradeoff.

Indeed they are. Ive got a set on my Warwick Corvette. Hmmm,
actually the same set I put on 4 and half years ago. They just seem to
last and last. Nice bright sound for flats too, more than usual. I
had tried halfwounds before but didnt get on with them, but these are
pure magic.

Hmmm ... Ive just bought two sets of T-I 13-53 flats for my ES-175 and
for James new ES-165 (a graduation present - this is a late GAS
announcement).

Havent changed the strings yet, but Im very aware of the brands good
reputation.
