I have a 1998 Fender USA Deluxe Stratocaster with worn frets .
I need, at the least to have it re-crowned & polished...I want the Nut
replacing.
And am pretty certain that I will need it to have a full re Fret.

I live in the Aylesbury Town Area in Mid Buckinghamshire & do not have
a car so the cost of traveling to & from any distance might add Ł30 to
the expected Ł120 plus for a re-fret.

Does any body know of any body providing this service in my area ?

How about doing the whole thing by Mail Order ??
Perhaps I could send just the neck away for the work ?
Any body know of such a service in the UK ?

Im reasonable competent with Guitar maintenance e.g. have fret leveled &
polished ..
adjust Truss rod etc. but trying to fully refret this one piece
Maple Nitro High Gloss Honey neck is to much.

The alternative would be a Mighty Mite replacement neck at Ł55 inc. post.
http://www.axesrus.com/axenecks.htm 10 th one down the page.
But that aint the same is it ??...but this thing is driving me mad as it
is.
I have Googled around on this with no results.

Im the O.P.
Thanks for suggestions, I may well Email Re: the Bletchley contact.

Not really found any body yet.
There is a good well established Music Shop in my town Aylesbury
but an inquiry there had them say just maybe if a certain person happens to
be in
It clearly is not a service they are organized to offer.

I can do the frets and nut by post if you dont find anyone - Ive done
it before for people. Sending just the neck shouldnt be an issue.

Paul.

Thanks Paul ...thats the first Mail Order possibility Ive found.
I guess it would the Ł175 (Oh Sigh!) for Maple neck re-fret..
Much as I suspected ..
I might well be in touch.

A sensible person would just buy that Mighty Mite I mentioned for Ł55 inc.
post
& a Fender stick on decal ..but it aint the same ???!!

I didnt even realise that Aylesbury Music offered any kind of
fettling services. I used to take everything to Guitar Slinger in
Berkhamsted, but sadly the shop isnt there any more.

I can highly recommend the neck-wrangling skills of Paul C though. :o)

I can recommend Andy in Bletchley, he does all my work, never had a problem
and his price is really reasonable. Well worth the price of the petrol in
someones car to take it over there.
Hotfoot..
