My local cash converters sometimes has the odd guitar related bargain
(got my Pandora PX4D brand new for Ł60). I noticed today they have
what seems to be a decent condition Ibanez Iceman in the window, black
finish, I think it was edge bound, and with 2 rail style humbuckers,
for Ł150.

Curiously it also has a 3 a side headstock, which as far as I can work
out from wiki was a feature on early models. it also has (I think) a
gold d type character decal on the headstock.

I dont really know much I about Ibanezes, (Ibanezs, Ibanii?), but
perhaps someone could enlighten me, and if it is one of guitars worth
getting for the sake of it and resale value, or is it just a budget
line that I cant find anything about and not bother with?

Must admit I wouldnt mind one of those!

after a quick browse, it sounds a bit like this:
<http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160239600496>

Thats what it is. I dont think its the bargain i though it may be
going by the cost new on online shops. Yes its cheaper, but not
exactly an expensive or even mid range guitar to start with.

Oh well, Ill keep my eyes open for any other bargains, you never know,
the original copy of the bible might turn up in cash converters one day
;)

You never know. I found a squire strat in there once for Ł45 that was
really pretty good. Most of the time they are overpriced, but there is
always the chance sometimes that there is a gem.

If it had been one of the 1979 ones it would have probably been good!

I picked up my first electric in Cash convertors, a Pacifica 112 for Ł60. A
total bargain. A few years later I got a Fender Nashville Telecaster deluxe
for Ł250. I think they resell on the value of the standard guitar.

Just ensure you check the guitar out properly first.

Well I did find and purchase another bargain yesterday, an original
style Marshall Guvnor pedal, the 80s black wedge style, not the
revised silver one. Ive heard that the new ones arent that great
but the old ones are rather sought after. Picked it up for Ł39.99.
Just seen one of ebay for Ł115! (but that ones mint, mines not).

It has the smooth distortion Ive been looking for, for my bass,
without getting muddy, fuzzy or buzzsaw like. I just wish it had a
blend knob so I could mix it with my clean signal. Any ideas there
anyone? Anyone know of a mod that can do this? I know Radial make a
loop/blend box, but it aint cheap! I may experiment with some
splitter cables.

Sell it then!

I would probably just open it up and put a mix knob in there. Mind you,
probably not if it was worth something!

Thats what I was thinking, but Im crap at electronics, seriously.
monumentally bad. Even if I opened it up and had a circuit diagram i
still wouldnt know what to do! I cant find anything about mods for
this pedal on the web either, so maybe a separate blender will be the
way to go (unless anyone has any knowledge on mods)
