I find that if I go long periods without reading and speaking English,
I drop into german syntax in English.

Start to speak backwards like Yoda I do.
Very worrying it is.

My father laughs at me everytime I go back home, because I seem to have
problems sometimes finding the right words or expressions and use English
derivatives... the thing is... Im often not aware of it until pointed out!
So it turns out my English has reached a plateau where Im nowhere near as
proficient as Id like, and Im starting to have problems in Spanish! I used
to take pride in speaking Spanish properly and having a wide vocabulary
etc... and at times I just feel so inarticulate. I know it all comes back
once I am submerged in a Spanish-speaking environment more than a week or
two, but still...
