BOSS Micro br (Ł120) v/s BOSS 600 (Ł170)

Im trying to decide between these two.
I cant find out for sure if the Effects & Rhythm sections are the same ?
It looks as thought the 600 is the Micro br with 8 instead of 4 tracks &
larger bigger control panel .
I want it mainly as a personal practice box & the Effects & rhythm sections
are important.

Also does any Bunny know about the needed power supply .
The BOSS one is around Ł20 & they stress the need for the right one.
I have a house full of power adapters ..do I really need some special one
here ?

Ive been using the BR600 with a Maplin adapter, it works OK. I think all
Boss products recommend the official power supply but others will work OK
provided youve got the right polarity etc.

I use the non-regulated one which came with my Microcube for the Microcube
and it works ok. A regulated PSU is best especially if your mains is
noisy.

I had the Micro Br, got fed up with it and sold it to get the BR600.
Rhythms and effect are excellent on both and little if any difference in
quality. However, the limited buttons and tortuous micro BR menu system is
truely tedious. Portability is pointless when you have to got through
countless button presses to get anything recorded. The BR600 interface is
much easier to get to grips with and operate. Simple controls to do multiple
takes, set levels and switch between tracks.

Just my POV of course. As a guitarist tool these devices are amazing.

After much checking around, my judgment now on the BR 600
equals your findings & thoughts almost exactly ...
The effects & rhythm sections are at least as good & varied as the Micro BR.

A discovery that put me right of the Micro was to find that you cant play
electric guitar & sing at the thing at the same time with the two sounds
ON SEPARATE TRACKS !!?? ...more sort of record one thing at a time .

One thing I have often been caught out on with complex many feature boxes
of various sorts is to be blinded by all the options in to not
realizing that they may only be usable separately, only one at a time.

I sit glued to EBAY.UK watching for a BR 600 at not more Ł150 + say Ł10 p&p

Strange how many Micro brs & 600 etc. come up there with people saying.
Hardly used ...only out the box once etc...etc..
Surely I shall have it busily by me at all times for years to come ??!!
