My study/music room has reverted to its original intended use; as a
bedroom (for the youngest). In order to make space, Ive had to break
down my desktop PC (which was hardly used anyway) and Ill be selling
the bits off via fleaBay.

Before I do, is anyone interested in buying my Terratec DMX 6 Fire
souncard? Its the one with the breakout box, and Ive installed a
Yamaha XG daughterboard for on-board GM/XG MIDI sounds.

I know that Greg recently sold his for Ł50 - any takers for the same?

Cheers,

Ross.

I would just like to say the Terratec is a great bit of kit . Its
worth Ł50 alone .

The Daughterboard fits into either a PCI or an ISA slot . Although
other forms of connection exist . Yamahas Daughter board has within it
lots and lots of cool sounds from Drums to Synths to silly noises . It
is not reliant on your chip to produce the sounds , hence you get a
better performance all round . Plus in my opinion Yamaha XG sounds are
very good .

I did - either a Behringer powered mixer (also shortly to go on sale
- when I can find it!) or a V-amp set to a clean signal (setting S1
or S2 I think). I then used Amplitube to jazz it up a bit.

Theres an interface inside the breakout box that lets the board
float over the rest of the gubbins in there - its a snug fit!

I bought mine on eBay years ago; it came bundled with a Soundblaster
16 card.

Id rather not split the set but if it doesnt sell here in the next
week or so Ill let you know.
