Hi,
Sorry if this isnt the place to be positing this.

Im a bassist who has rencetly moved to south london (stockwell if you must
know) and is now looking for some musicians to play with.

Not really looking for rock and roll superstardom. Just some like minded
people to play with.

As a way to indicate what I do Ive appended a list of my current musical
likes and dislikes. And I suppose Id better admit to previously being part
of Freeon, the doomed Leeds based space funk project of West Yorkshire with
you very own Paul Simpson.

neal.

Musical likes: The Roots, Super Furry Animals, The Free Association (David
Holmes), Red Hot Chilli Peppers (all of it), Roots Manuva, Beastie Boys,

Tricky, White Stripes, Stone Roses, Jimi, Funkadelic, Ozomatli, J5, The

Bollocks! You want fame and adulation and smarties with all the brown
ones taken out. You *know* you do. Embrace your inner diva!

Doomed??

... well, yeah. You *were* kind of a lynchpin (me and Neil-drums
rehearsed without you once and were shocked at how empty and crap the
sound was) and we knew in advance you would be moving. Bummer.

To any potential jammees out there: snap this fella up, hes funky and
ace and weird (in a good way).

Are you aware of the by weekly Woodman jam in SW19 ?

Its always a great night, usually by-weekly. Next one 12th August I believe.

If you are - ignore me, I am not one of the players, just a regular attendee.

Its organized by the hard working Gary of Roadhouse:

lol! thats a very specific musical dislike, fortunately they have shuffled
off into the dim memories of a few dimwitted fans and those who found them
offensive! i dont think you need worry, i cant imagine any prospective
bands going uh-huh, yup, zeppelin, great, yeah, jimi, cool, what about the
stones? good, good, oh and yes of course shed7? Waddya mean NO!! .... ill
get me coat ;)

Well, well. Stockwell. Many years ago [1] I lived in Stockwell (well,
between Stockwell and Clapham North tube stations) after a weird
Dutch/Danish tour (which went a bit pear-shaped, as they do) and while
looking for a new band to play with. At that point I would have killed for
some interesting musos to play with. (Actually I found some - a long way up
the Northern line....)

Ho hum. I feel old.

Steve
[1] late 70s, Im afraid. Back when my hair had hair.

Cor, I wondered how many people picked up on The Free Association!
Good album, though Im not that enamoured of the guys rapping.
Wooden Heart is a my fave from the album, really weird detuned guitar
in the intro; hmmm, wonder how I can get that sound...

Blimey, a big list of bands and people I like, plus some new things to
check out. Whats a good Ben Harper album to start with? I only know
the song Whipping Boy (which is fantastic), though the version I heard
was a remix.

Awww, no Shed 7? Come now, arent we all just chasing rainbows all
the time?

Cheers,
Si
